FONTE D'ART
A tour that explores the artistic context of 19th-century fonte d'art, based on examples of this industry in the city of Porto.
The concept of Fonte d'Art was created in the second half of the 19th century, based on a new industry that combined art with industry—sculpture and casting—producing mass-produced and accessible urban artifacts. This technique was applied to urban furniture in European cities. The city of Porto has examples of this artistic context, produced in the most emblematic foundries in Paris.
