- In 1880, Margarida Cândida Moreira da Cunha, widow of Bento José Barbosa da Cunha, requested water pipes from her mine. The turret received water in its water distribution tank from a tank located on Rua do Montebelo, on the current Avenida Fernão de Magalhães. The turret supplied properties on Rua do Barão de Nova Sintra, including the former Quinta das Oliveiras, where the SMAS established itself in 1927. Due to construction work on Avenida Fernão de Magalhães, the SMAS abandoned this supply.
