  • Mina e Arca da Cavaca
  • description
  • It is believed to have been built by the friars of the Convent of Santo António da Cidade when they moved into the building that now houses Porto's Municipal Public Library in the 18th century. With its own spring, it supplied the convent, but some of the water was reserved for the Hospital and College in São Lázaro, the lake and fountain in the garden of the same name, and the old fountains in Firmeza and Largo do Padrão. The archway leading to the mine was demolished in 1950.
