- The place of Fontinha, near Rua de Santa Catarina, is named after a water structure, as there was a fountain there that dripped little water. This was the so-called Fonte Seca, built on the old Rua Bella da Princesa, and Fonte da Fontinha came to replace it. It was built to take advantage of the waters of one of the springs that flowed there, in the quarry called Monte do Bairro Alto. It was built on Travessa da Fontinha and later on Rua das Carvalheiras.
