- Fonte da Cadeia
- description
- It is also known as the Fountain of Neptune, as the iconography of this mythological god is attributed to the medallion on the back, or the Porta do Olival, as it welcomed anyone who entered the city through that door. It was built as part of the project for the new Prison and Court of Appeal in Porto, between 1765 and 1796. It replaced a fountain that existed in the center of the square. It was supplied by the Ark of the Angel and supplied the prison building.
