- It was built in the old Largo do Laranjal, a project by Obras Públicas Almadinas, demarcated in 1770. It will replace a back-mounted fountain, inaugurated in 1844, which was replaced in 1854 by the fountain. Therefore, known as Chafariz do Laranjal, it is today located in Praça da Trindade since 1972, after being stored in Parque das Águas during the works for Avenida dos Aliados. It is thought that the fountain is made up of reused stones from the 16th century Fountain of Largo de São Domingos, which operated until 1845.
