- title
- Brasão da Fonte de São Domingos
- description
- It represents the coat of arms of the city of Porto and topped the frontispiece of the Fonte de s. Domingos (São Domingos Fountain), built on land expropriated from Domingos Faria, who later ordered the construction of the building that would house the fountain. This building came into the possession of Manuel Francisco de Araújo, founder of Papelaria Araújo & Sobrinho. The fountain operated there until 1922, when it was dismantled to make way for a showcase for Papelaria Araújo & Sobrinho. In addition to the gap that persists at the site, the waterspouts are also preserved in the National Museum of Soares dos Reis in Porto.
