It was the northern entrance to the Manancial do Montebelo and bears the episcopal coat of arms of D. Frei José Maria da Fonseca Évora, bishop of Porto between 1741 and 1752, together with the inscription “1749.” Another chest from the spring is known to exist, with the same architecture, whose lintel is preserved in the Soares dos Reis National Museum.
